Foul Water / Fiery Serpent, a New Documentary on Guinea Worm Disease


This week, The Carter Center will host the season finale of "Conversations at The Carter Center," a series of discussions on issues that help shape our world.

Join Carter Center experts and filmmakers who will discuss the independently produced documentary Foul Water / Fiery Serpent and give a behind-the-scenes look at the effort to eradicate Guinea worm. The event will be led by John Hardman, M.D., president and CEO of The Carter Center.

This event is closed to the public, but will be webcast live.

Human Rights Defenders Policy Forum
Religion, Belief, and Women's Rights
April 3-6, 2011


This week, The Carter Center will host the first Human Rights Defenders Policy Forum held since 2008. From April 3-6, human rights leaders and scholars will gather at The Carter Center to discuss key challenges that women's rights activists face and ways to bridge the gaps between religious, traditional, and formal state institutions to advance the protection of these rights.
